Η συμβολή του ελαιώδους εναιωρήματος Ca(OH)2 στην επούλωση οστικών κοιλοτήτων στις γνάθους

Στην παρούσα πειραματική μελέτη εξετάστηκε η συμβολή του ελαιώδους
εναιωρήματος Ca(OH)2 το οποίο φέρει την εμπορική επωνυμία osteoinductal®,
στην επούλωση οστικών ελλείψεων της γναθοπροσωπικής χώρας.
Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν 35 κόνικλοι, βάρους 3.5 - 5.5 χιλιογράμμων, στων οποίων
τις κάτω γνάθους διανοίχθηκαν, υπό γενική αναισθησία, δύο κοιλότητες
διαμέτρου 3mm - 4mm. Στη μία εκ των δύο κοιλοτήτων τοποθετήθηκε το
προαναφερθέν υλικό ενώ η ετέρα κοιλότης εχρησίμευσε ως μάρτυς.
Τα πειραματόζωα θυσιάστηκαν κατά ομάδες μία εβδομάδα, δύο εβδομάδες,
τρεις εβδομάδες και ένα μήνα μετά την τοποθέτηση του υλικού. Ακολούθησε
ιστολογικός έλεγχος όλων των κοιλοτήτων και μορφομετρική εκτίμηση με
σύστημα ανάλυσης εικόνας (image analysis system) σε άπαντα τα
πειραματόζωα.
Διαπιστώθηκε ότι, κατά την διάρκεια των πρώτων τριών εβδομάδων, οι
κοιλότητες στις οποίες είχε τοποθετηθεί osteoinductal® παρουσίαζαν αυξημένη
οστεοβλαστική δραστηριότητα σε σχέση με τους μάρτυρες. Αντιθέτως στα
παρασκευάσματα που ελήφθησαν ένα μήνα μετά την τοποθέτηση του
osteoinductal® παρετηρήθη μειωμένη οστεοβλαστική δραστηριότητα σε
σύγκριση με τις κοιλότητες-μάρτυρες.
Η εν λόγω μείωση δικαιολογείται από το γεγονός ότι στις κοιλότητες όπου είχε
τοποθετηθεί osteoinductal® είχε πλέον ολοκληρωθεί η επούλωση, ενώ στις
κοιλότητες-μάρτυρες η επούλωση συνεχιζόταν.
Τα αποτελέσματα της ημετέρας πειραματικής μελέτης έδειξαν ότι το υλικό
osteoinductal® επιταχύνει την επούλωση των οστικών ελλείψεων και ως εκ
τούτου αποτελεί χρήσιμο υλικό για την γναθοχειρουργική και την οδοντιατρική.
