Abstract
Η ισορροπία αποτελεί κρίσιμη ικανότητα για τη μετακίνηση και την ποιότητα ζωής
των παιδιών με προβλήματα ακοής. Προϋπόθεση για το σχεδίασμά αποτελεσματικών
παρεμβάσεων για τη βελτίωση της ισορροπίας μέσω της άσκησης αποτελεί η ορθή και
αξιόπιστη αξιολόγηση της. Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας είναι ο προσδιορισμός της
πλέον αξιόπιστης μεθόδου αξιολόγησης της ισορροπίας σε παιδιά με προβλήματα ακοής.
Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 17 παιδιά με προβλήματα ακοής, ηλικίας 6-12 ετών, από το
νομό Αττικής. Η ισορροπία των παιδιών αξιολογήθηκε ταυτόχρονα με τρεις (3) τρόπους:
με την κλίμακα ισορροπίας της Berg (Berg Balance Scale -BBS), την ενότητα ισορροπίας
του Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOTMP) και με τη δοκιμασία Timed
Up and Go (TUG). Πραγματοποιήθηκαν τρεις μετρήσεις με το κάθε εργαλείο
αξιολόγησης, σε δύο διαφορετικές ημέρες. Την I'1 μέρα εφαρμόστηκαν οι τρεις μέθοδοι
αξιολόγησης με τυχαία σειρά και μετά από ένα 5 λεπτό διάλλειμα, εφαρμόστηκαν εκ νέου
με την ίδια σειρά. Την 2'1 μέρα, 1 εβδομάδα μετά, η ισορροπία αξιολογήθηκε για μια
ακόμη φορά με τις τρεις δοκιμασίες και με την ίδια σειρά. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι το
BBS χαρακτηρίζεται από εξαιρετική σταθερότητα και άριστη αξιοπιστία, το TUG δεν
χαρακτηρίζεται από μεγάλη σταθερότητα και δεν διαθέτει μεγάλη αξιοπιστία και το
BOTMP (balance subtest) χαρακτηρίζεται μεν από μεγάλη σταθερότητα, αλλά δεν διαθέτει
μεγάλη αξιοπιστία για την αξιολόγηση των παιδιών με προβλήματα ακοής. Επομένως από
τα τρία τεστ που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν μόνο το BBS τηρεί τις προϋποθέσεις για να θεωρηθεί
αξιόπιστη μέθοδος μέτρησης ισορροπίας παιδιών με προβλήματα ακοής.
