An Algorithm for the Closed-Form Solution of Certain Classes of Volterra–Fredholm Integral Equations of Convolution Type
Zusammenfassung
In this paper, a direct operator method is presented for the exact closed-form solution of certain classes of linear and nonlinear integral Volterra–Fredholm equations of the second kind. The method is based on the existence of the inverse of the relevant linear Volterra operator. In the case of convolution kernels, the inverse is constructed using the Laplace transform method. For linear integral equations, results for the existence and uniqueness are given. The solution of nonlinear integral equations depends on the existence and type of solutions ofthe corresponding nonlinear algebraic system. A complete algorithm for symbolic computations in a computer algebra system is also provided. The method finds many applications in science and engineering. © 2022 by the authors. Closed-Form Solution of the Bending Two-Phase Integral Model of Euler-Bernoulli Nanobeams
Providas E. (2022)Recent developments have shown that the widely used simplified differential model of Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity in nanobeam analysis is not equivalent to the corresponding and initially proposed integral models, the ... -
A procedure for factoring and solving nonlocal boundary value problems for a type of linear integro-differential equations
Providas E., Parasidis I.N. (2021)The aim of this article is to present a procedure for the factorization and exact solution of boundary value problems for a class of n-th order linear Fredholm integro-differential equations with multipoint and integral ... -
Application of the integro-moment method to steady-state two-dimensional rarefied gas flows subject to boundary induced discontinuities
Varoutis, S.; Valougeorgis, D.; Sharipov, F. (2008)The computational efficiency of the integro-moment method for solving steady-state two-dimensional rarefied gas flows is investigated. The two-dimensional boundary driven flow of a single gas in a cavity is used as a model ...
