Textile reinforced mortars (TRM), also known in the international literature as textile reinforced concrete (TRC) or fabric reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) materials, have been widely studied during the last two decades as they constitute a promising alternative to the fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) retrofitting solution for strengthening of reinforced concrete members. This paper presents a state-of-the-art review on the strengthening of concrete structures with TRM. First, the tensile and bond behavior of TRM is described. Next, an overview of studies on the use of TRM for flexural, shear, confinement, and seismic retrofitting of concrete or RC members is included, and the key parameters are investigated. © 2018 This work is made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license,.

Numerical simulation of bending response of reinforced concrete and fibre-reinforced concrete beams
Georgiadi-Stefanidi, K. A.; Mistakidis, E. S.; Perdikaris, P. C. (2008)The aim of this work is to understand the behaviour of members made of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC). The members under study were fibre reinforced concrete beams with no conventional reinforcement, as well as fibre ... -
Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Confined Circular Columns: Compressive Strength Assessment
Papakonstantinou C.G. (2020)Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites may be successfully used in numerous structural strengthening applications. One of these applications is as a confining material for reinforced concrete structural elements. Research ... -
Flexural strengthening of RC beams with textile-reinforced mortar composites focusing on the influence of the mortar type
Koutas L.N., Papakonstantinou C.G. (2021)This paper presents an experimental study on the flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) beams with externally bonded layers of textile-reinforced mortar (TRM), as a means of improving their flexural response. ...
