Abstract
Environmental education for disabled persons is the main object of this PhD study. The topics of protected areas, endangered species, and management and conservation of environmental important habitats are the priorities for the compilation of environmental material adapted for persons with visual impairments, hearing impairments and mobility problems. The scientific sectors of acoustic ecology and conservation education have been utilised in order to improve and achieve the virtual transfer of participants to the selected ecosystem, so as to understand the importance and environmental value of the area. The evaluation of the environmental material was conducted using questionnaires and observers, who recorded the participants' reactions and behavior.
