Abstract
The difference between oncotic and hydrostatic pressures of pleura and lung is believed to be the explanation for the of removal of fluid from the visceral pleura. Recent studies have shown that the lymphatic stomas which are found in the parietal pleura remove almost all the fluid under normal conditions. Fluid enters the pleural cavity from the vessels of parietal of visceral pleura and is removed by the lymphatics of the parietal pleura.
