dc.description.abstract | Using advanced numerical tools, which account for the cold-expansion manufacturing process, the axial capacity of welded slip pipeline joints under compressive loading is investigated. The numerical results are in good agreement with available experimental data, and show the effects of several geometric parameters. Internal pressure effects are also examined, and an assessment of previously reported simplified design equations is conducted. Copyright ASCE 2006. | en |
