Zusammenfassung
Building energy simulation codes treat light-shelves as perfectly diffuse, while examples in bibliography with dynamically controlled light-shelves are really limited. The paper examines two control strategies of an exterior specular light-shelf proposing a fast computational methodology for the estimation of solar radiant flux impinging on the window. This methodology is used to develop a selection indicator based on sunlight redirection ability together with the solar radiation in comparison with the "No light-shelf" case. Results show that the best performing dynamic light-shelf is the one controlled according to the maximization of average daylight levels in areas away from the perimeter zone. © 2019 by International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) All rights reserved.
