Anti-TNF-α agents have been used for the treatment of several autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis. Recently observations indicate that treatment with anti-TNF-α agents is associated with increased risk of infectious diseases and especially tuberculosis. A case of a 78-year-old female with rheumatoid arthritis is described who developed miliary tuberculosis after treatment with infliximab. A brief review of the literature is presented.
